After a few months of being on hiatus, the DMC Blog’s monthly roundup of active dice Kickstarters is back! We have some big names like Dispel Dice and Gate Keeper Games this month, as well as some fan-favorite designers (Gio Lasar and his constellation dice are back with a space-age twist!), but there are a lot of new faces on the list, too. Read on for metal spindowns, wizard towers, and more!

Christmas Dice 2019

Ends December 3, 2019 at 11:15 PM EST

Gate Keeper Games is well-known for several things, namely their expansive line of Halfsies dice, but you’d be remiss to exclude their highly successful short-run Kickstarters from their reputation. This is just the latest in a string of dice crowdfunding campaigns from GKG, and it’s perfectly festive for this time of year. There’s under 36 hours remaining on this one, though, so if you’d like some holiday cheer in your dice collection, now’s the time to act! Delivery is scheduled to be just in time for Christmas.

Soapy Loot – Liquid Core Dice with Soap & Bath Fizzes

Ends December 4, 2019 at 9:17 AM EST

Another Kickstarter ending soon (less than 48 hours to go!) is this quirky campaign by Rockabilly Soap. While this is the family-owned company’s first adventure into crowdfunding their wares, they’ve been making soaps and other bath products by hand for 12 years! What makes this soap worthy of your hard-earned gold and a DMC blog feature? The dice lurking within, of course. We’re big fans of Bitey McBitePants.

Unique CNC Dice Set

Ends December 6, 2019 at 9:16 AM EST

This Kickstarter is perfect for the the Dice Maniacs among us who love having interesting and esoteric dice in their collections! Made from machined aluminum, the three different styles of d6 offered as rewards in this campaign have further options such as a variety of colors and a choice of standard or Chinese numerals (or even pips!). They may be pricey (€12 a piece), but these dice are certainly as unique as the campaign title promises.

Dispel Dice Debut Collection

Ends December 9, 2019 at 9:16 AM EST

You’d have to be living under a pretty large d20-shaped rock to not have seen the Dispel Dice Kickstarter yet, but we’re sharing it anyway because, well, just look at these dice! Dispel created a social media stir earlier this year with jaw-dropping handmade designs; this project aims to more mass-manufacture the dice while keeping their stunning handcrafted appeal. With over $2 million raised and quite a few more days to go, it’s safe to say that this is the most successful dice-related Kickstarter campaign ever. Be prepared to wait a while, though—new backer tiers are currently estimating delivery in August of 2021.

Metal Spindown Dice by Eldersteel

Ends December 9, 2019 at 12:13 PM EST

We see a lot of cool metal dice sets that cater to tabletop games like D&D and Pathfinder, but what about the other nerds? You know, the MTG players? Why don’t they ever get anything cool, shiny, and potentially dangerous? That’s the exact premise of this Kickstarter from Eldersteel, and if you back it, you’ll get some awesome metal spindown d20s, plus bragging rights to your D&D-playing friends that of course Magic is still cool.*

Dice Made from Engineering Alloys

Ends December 10, 2019 at 12:22 PM EST

Simple and refined, these precision-machined d6s are the perfect opportunity to roll in true rocket-scientist style with aircraft-grade aluminum, sturdy brass, stainless steel, or even commercially-pure titanium! If you’re just as confused as we are by those words, each die will come engraved with its alloy designation (or, if you know what you’re doing, you can opt out). Backer tiers range from two d6s of one kind of metal to eight total dice—a full buffet of the options! Definitely not safe for consumption.

Constellation Dice: Apollo 50th Anniversary Edition

Ends December 10, 2019 at 8:00 PM EST

Speaking of rockets… Earlier this year, Gio Lasar announced the Saturn V d6 fudge set just in time for the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing. That was all the way back in July, but it’s never too late to celebrate one of humanity’s greatest achievements—and the tinfoil hat theories that launched with it! This installment of Constellation Dice includes polyhedral designs both new and old, and there’s even one that has yet to be decided—the d8! If you’d like to have a hand in the Gio Lasar design process, now is your chance. Oh! And did we mention they glow-in-the-dark?! That’s one small step for a Dice Maniac, and one giant leap for Dice Maniac Kind!

Roll for Pride: d20 Enamel Pins Collection

Ends December 10, 2019 at 8:00 PM EST

Inclusivity is becoming more and more important in the tabletop gaming community, which, of course, means that the dice-collecting community is starting to care about it, too. Companies like Heartbeat Dice and Roll With Advantage have awesome pride dice lines, and Die Hard Dice even talked about their huge support of the LGBT+ community in our recent interview with them. If you’d like to wear your pride dice even when you can’t be rolling your pride dice, this Kickstarter is for you! Only eight days left and still needing funds.

Talis Evolvere: Kanji Dice

Ends December 20, 2019 at 1:59 AM EST

Did someone say Kanji Dice?! Q-Workshop’s out-of-print (and very, very hard-to-find) set is highly sought-after by a ton of collectors. It takes a lot of luck to find even a few pieces, let alone a full set. And that’s where this new Kickstarter from Robin’s Nerd Supplies comes in! The first in a series of planned crowdfunding campaigns that will offer dice in a number of non-standard scripts, these gold-leaf-filled Talis Evolvere Kanji dice are going to be a hit. We can’t wait to see what comes next!

Mistborn Metal Dice

Ends December 20, 2019 at 2:59 AM EST

Finally, a Kickstarter for the Cosmere fans among us! This campaign boasts a total of twenty solid-metal d6s inspired by Allomancy, the system of magic used in the Mistborn world created by Brandon Sanderson. Crafty Games have been making Mistborn tabletop gaming products since 2012, and now, in this impressive collaboration with Die Hard Dice, you can take home a collector’s set that showcases all of the Allomantic powers, with the appropriate symbols replacing the 6 on each die. If you’re a fan of Mistborn the Game, Mistborn the book, or just really cool looking metal dice, check it out!

TURRIM Dice – It’s How Wizards Roll

Ends December 22, 2019 at 6:00 PM EST

We’re big fans of unconventional dice shapes and we know a lot of Dice Maniacs feel the same way—which is good, because Moonmares Games has us covered. Following in the footsteps of their TERA DICE Kickstarter in 2018 (which was inspired by the architecture of traditional Japanese temples), TURRIM Dice are a stackable polyset fit for the wisened pyromancer in all of us. If you’re feeling less like fireball and more like create undead, there are stretch goals that would be perfect for other schools of magic just waiting to be unlocked!

King of Potions: D4, D6, and D8 Potion Dice

Ends December 24, 2019 at 9:09 AM EST

Potion Seller, crowdfund your strongest potions! These dice are perfect for rolling up your fantasy beverage of choice—whether it be to get a little extra healing in the heat of battle or the consequence of one too many at the tavern. Should’ve had a d8!

Fuck D6s

Ends January 8, 2019 at 11:30 AM EST

Perfect for when you’re rolling ability scores for your brand-new rogue and you somehow manage a 5. Don’t make Dexterity your dump stat.
